Our Primary Program is built on Dr. Montessori’s belief that the goal of early childhood education should not be to fill the child with facts, but rather to cultivate the child’s own natural desire to learn.  At Endeavor Montessori, we approach this objective in two ways:

  • First, by allowing each child to experience the excitement of learning by choice rather than by being forced.
  • Second, by helping the child perfect his or her natural tools for learning, so that each child’s abilities are maximized for future learning situations.

There are no limits to the amount of knowledge a child can obtain during these formative early years! The environment at Endeavor Montessori builds a strong academic and social foundation for later learning. Children learn to better understand the world around them, form a positive self-image, and respect all life.

Endeavor Montessori students are individually guided by an AMS certified lead teacher as they explore several main areas of learning including:

  • Practical Life
  • Sensorial
  • Language Arts
  • Mathematics
  • Physical, Cultural & Natural Worlds

The Primary Environment

Our classrooms are warm and inviting spaces where children are treated with respect. Montessori classrooms allow children the opportunity to benefit from multi-age grouping, which creates a community of happy students who mentor, inspire and learn from one another. Our low teacher-to-child ratios ensure each child is given individualized attention and guided through the curriculum. Students at Endeavor Montessori receive many individual and small group lessons each day to ultimately achieve their individual academic potential.

The Primary Curriculum

We believe that exposure in the formative years to a vast range of foundational knowledge in geography, culture, and science provides “hooks in the brain” for future learning. Hands-on materials bring concepts to life, helping children to comprehend in a deeper, more meaningful way. By following through on their own tasks, children experience personal pride and feelings of self-worth associated with working independently and for their own purposes. Children are presented opportunities to choose their own work, to work for uninterrupted time periods, and to repeat activities if they need to do so. All of these elements are essential to the development of self-direction, concentration and attention span.

Beyond the Primary Classroom

In a Montessori environment, emphasis is placed on community service and helping others. We actively instruct children in peacemaking skills, conflict resolution strategies and respect for others, which promotes sociability. Outdoor classrooms and gardens, field trips and guest speakers enhance our extensive curriculum.
