What is the Global Language Program at Endeavor Montessori?

As our world becomes increasingly interconnected, understanding different cultures and languages has become even more important. The Global Language Program at Endeavor Montessori was designed to create bilingual students with an understanding and appreciation for different cultures and diverse communities. Our program provides young minds with the opportunity they need to grow during this era of globalization.

At Endeavor Montessori, we provide a comprehensive Spanish program, as Spanish is the second-most spoken native language in the world and used by over 400 million people globally. To round out our Global Language Program, we will offer another language based on our community’s interests.

Our program instructors are native, heritage, or fluent speakers who teach the language in a natural way by tying in culture, food, dance, games and customs. Students in our Global Language Program grow in their abilities to produce a specific language and are exposed to authentic materials that make their learning meaningful.

How do students benefit from learning a second language?

Understanding a different language improves our students’ world view and allows them to communicate with people from different countries. By learning another culture and language, students gain a more profound understanding of their own culture and how it relates to others. Numerous studies have shown that being bilingual provides multiple advantages and is proven to be helpful in brain development.

Students who are bilingual have a longer attention span and are able to multitask more easily. They are also able to adapt to changes in their environment and are more open to new experiences. Additionally, bilingual students have been shown to be more successful in problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity tasks. Bilingual individuals have also shown an improved ability to multitask and can be better listeners.

Being bilingual gives children a competitive advantage in their future careers, as being bilingual is a valuable skill in the workplace. They will experience more job options in this increasingly interconnected global society.
